Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Redbourn, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,000 - £41,000

Job Role of the Design Engineer
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join a engineering design team within a world-leading, highly secure company with a strong global reputation.
You will turn design information into clear instructions and parts lists, create and check technical drawings and CAD models, and ensure accuracy against specifications. You'll also improve existing designs, manage CAD files, and support product testing for strength and safety. The role includes assisting with risk assessments, producing operation and maintenance documents, improving 3D CAD processes, and researching new technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Design Engineer
- Proven experience in a design engineering role (or similar) within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software
- Ability to produce and interpret accurate technical drawings
- Good understanding of engineering principles and design standards
Requirements for the Design Engineer
- Ability to create, interpret, and check technical drawings and CAD models
- Good understanding of engineering principles and design standards
- Experience managing CAD files and documentation systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable Requirements for the Design Engineer
- Knowledge of operation & maintenance documentation and technical guides
- Experience contributing to or leading product testing
- Understanding of risk assessment processes and safety standards
- Experience working with or improving PLM / CAD management systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly methods
