An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Birmingham. Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining a variety of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown response and continuous improvement activities, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimal production downtime.

Sector: Manufacturing / Factory Maintenance

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery.
• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement projects to improve machinery reliability and efficiency.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
• Work collaboratively with production teams to maximise plant performance.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Experience carrying out planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
• A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within UK manufacturing.
• Exposure to automated production machinery.
• Continuous improvement experience.
