Maintenance Engineer - Industrial Environment | Permanent Lates | Up to £50,000

Chelmsford, Essex

Permanent Late Shift (Monday to Friday, approx. 2pm-10pm)

Up to £50,000 + Overtime + Benefits

About the Role:

We're looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced industrial site in Chelmsford on a permanent late shift. You'll be responsible for keeping essential machinery and equipment running smoothly through a mix of preventative and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on production and plant equipment

   

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on a wide range of machinery

   

• Support continuous improvement and efficiency projects

   

• Ensure compliance with health & safety and maintenance schedules

   

• Collaborate with the day and night shift teams to ensure smooth handovers

   

• Keep accurate records of all work completed

   

What We're Looking For:

• Time-served or qualified engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

   

• Multi-skilled with a solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems

   

• Industrial experience (e.g., manufacturing, FMCG, waste, aggregates, etc.)

   

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

   

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on a late shift

   

• Flexible and committed to high standards of work and safety
