Company Overview

A long-established UK manufacturer of precision metal components, operating across two main divisions:

• Industrial – Producing components for water pumps, rivets, and pens.

• Pharmaceutical – Manufacturing components for asthma inhalers, producing over 600 million units annually and holding a major share of the UK market.

All components are pressed from strip metal on-site, then washed, packaged, and distributed. The company supplies several major global clients and is part of a large European manufacturing group.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to join a modern toolroom facility.

This key role is responsible for producing high-quality press tooling to support two on-site press shop operations, ensuring precision, reliability, and quality in line with customer and regulatory requirements.

You will contribute to world-class manufacturing performance by enhancing safety, quality, and delivery, while maintaining cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate CNC grinding machines to fine tolerances.

• Produce high-quality press tooling to support in-house production operations.

• Perform CNC and manual grinding, ensuring machines are maintained and operated safely.

• Continuously improve grinding techniques and processes for efficiency and quality.

• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to meet targets.

• Maintain accurate operational and quality records.

• Support apprentices with training in grinding techniques.

• Promote a proactive approach to continuous improvement and workplace safety.

Hours & Shift Pattern

• Schedule: Monday to Friday

• Shifts: Rotating weekly (6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm)

• Hours: 40 per week

• Travel: Minimal / No stay away

Remuneration & Benefits

• Salary: £44,804.99 per annum

• Annual Pay Review: Every July (performance dependent)

• Bonus: Annual bonus after two years of service

• Holiday: 26 days + Bank Holidays (includes Christmas shutdown)

• Pension: 8% employer contribution / 4% employee
