About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Control Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business within the building products industry. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that all products meet exacting quality standards and comply with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Working closely with production teams, you’ll oversee inspections, manage “first-off” approvals, and drive continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor. This is a hands-on role that’s ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for getting things right.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and quality measurements to confirm compliance with product specifications.

  • Oversee the first-off approval process and perform regular in-process checks.

  • Identify and report any quality issues or deviations immediately to prevent waste and rework.

  • Isolate non-conforming materials and follow up on corrective actions (rework, release, or scrap).

  • Carry out regular quality walks across production lines to maintain consistent standards.

  • Support best-practice methods such as 5S, error-proofing, and standardised work.

  • Deliver training and guidance on quality procedures and inspection methods.

  • Maintain and update SOPs, quality alerts, and key quality metrics (KPIs).

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary (£29,000–£30,472.54)

  • 20 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays)

  • Cycle-to-work scheme

  • Opportunities for training, upskilling, and career progression within a growing group
